Re: Election 2008: Obama vs McCain

I'm starting to get the idea I'm one of the lonely few who don't give a fuck about the stock market or it crashing. Oh no, I'm much in the same boat. I don't own stocks (except for a tiny Oracle share since I'm an employee and thought what the heck), so my 401K is really the only thing affected the...

Re: WHY do we assume the GOD IS GOOD ??

My own testing and observation of God has proven Him good.

Nothing I can use to prove God to anyone else, but it's sufficient proof to me.

My answer's short and sweet this time.

Re: Science and the God thing-a-ma-jig

"Impossible to believe" is a sure sign of narrow mindedness.. Impossible to believe doesn't mean that it's impossible in reality. Just his narrow mindedness that refuses to see the big picture. I agree. While I'm one who has a firm faith in God, I have issues with the Intelligent Design movement. I...

Re: What's wrong with the nearest Church Address...:D

This is the very example I've had to try sometimes not to be prejudiced against atheists -- This guy isn't content holding onto his belief and being confident in it; rather, he has to be a prick and pull a stunt that's obviously for nothing more than to boast about ridiculous the other side's belief...

Re: 'No God' slogans for city's buses

But it "probably" won't stop those Christians from thinking this is a setup of the prince of darkness himself As a Christian, I would've looked at the bus, gone "Hmm...ok..." and gone right back to whatever I was doing at the time. I've got better things to do than chase down buses that have things...

Re: The After-life functioning of our Mind

How could the results of this study in any way prove/disprove life after death? It's exploring consciousness after clinical death, which is not necessarily fundamentally the same as a spirit-divided-from-body afterlife beliefs. The mind functioning after death would not necessarily prove the existen...

Re: Election 2008: Obama vs McCain

Same here, I'm reserving judgment until he fixes/breaks the first thing. I have been leaning much more toward McCain, but never voted, as neither of them truly ever won me over. I don't know if there was a "win" candidate for us this time around. So we'll see what happens. Question is, can he break ...

Yeah, I can only echo what's already been said (and come into the thread late as usual ). The Pailin factor + Obama being frickin' scary has solidified my McCain vote

Same here...The Dallas economy, so far, has remained pretty steady. Then again, it's Texas...We're always operating as if we were our own country.

Let me offer a bit more of a semi-positive viewpoint: Hell, he has more publicity both on the internet and in magazines than I've ever seen a single presidential party has ever had. I've heard a lot of negative stuff on him though, and virtually nothing positive or negative about McCain. I'm curious...

Ok guys, been giving your points some very involved thought the past couple of days (had a whole weekend to toil over it!). Some of these things have really made me go back to basics and look at why I believe just what I do. After spending a good chunk of time tossing things around, my answer is as ...

if YOU were to follow someone, that YOU believed absolutely to be a son of god wouldn't you keep a record of EVERYTHING they did ?? Certainly. But that writing would not be considered non-partisan. There's plenty of partisan writing, that part isn't so much in question... and I seem to remember rea...

so, to reach 000's of people then, would need to reach 10 000 000 + now to be in scale I was talking in the lower ends of thousands though...If memory serves correct, he had the attention of a few thousand (feeding the 5,000?), and that's the highest number of folks I recall reading about. So more ...
