All things related to games and gaming

Long, long time ago I had a snes and played Jurassic Park. While the game was rubbish and I was crap at it (I couldn't get past the fence and the freen area), I wonder has anybody here ever finished that game ?
I have tried playing it several years ago on a snes emulator but it's still just as rubbish.
KI, Chrono Cross and DBZ are best games for SNES.
I have a rant about everything:
Rant about the games today ->
the following rant is copyrighted as per uk laws http://www.ipo.gov.uk/copy/c-claim/c-auto.htm
The games today, it seems like games developers are catering for the dumb since most games are dumbed down pretty "lego duplo" style bricks.
Recently I have played GRID - race driver, and my god does that game suck balls. Toca has build up on stock cars, and multiple racing event categories, yet in the latest game all you get is a physics enabled arcade game.
I have done some races and got to 80% complete of GRID and I feel unsatisfied. The cars aren't upgradable (I understand performance brackets but common what about the cheaper races and less rules apply), the sponsors don't drop you for loosing 12 seasons (or more in a row), you can only have 1 team mate while other teams have up to 4 team members.
The game developers say one thing to me by releasing this game "LOOK AT WHAT WE CAN DO BUT WE'RE JUST NOT TRYING" yes, all GRID is, is a over-extended DEMO.
Most modern games fall into this category "the developer aren't trying", try playing "populous the beginning" it's unit management interface is soo well thought out I have yet to see a better one.
Harry : are you antagonizing me ?
Populous isn't really a "new" game. The first one was released somewhere in 1989. I know, I played it on my Amiga
Over the past 20 odd years I've seen so many games, nothing seems original anymore. Yes, the graphics and sounds are a lot better but playability?
< is a huge Commodore fan..
< still owns 2 C-64's and 3 Amigas (500, 1200 and 4000)
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.
Populous - wow, I remember playing that on something but have no idea what it was. Used to love playing it.
Lol, Not me g'vnour.
I haven't really played too many new games that were innovative. I got back into retro gaming recently, and games like Earthworm Jim or Sonic were just phenomenal. The things those developers did with the limited resources of the time...
Anyway, I am looking forward to two games this year though, Fallout 3 (which promises to be ace) and Spore...
Buy the Snakes of India book, support research and education (sorry website has been discontinued)
