AC/DC Black|ce Released!

Postby |3lack|ce » Wed Oct 22, 2008 8:02 pm

It's been 8 years since I was afraid to max the volume of a cd for fear of blowing my speakers. Today, I had that fear again as I drove out of the WalMart parking lot, Rock N Roll Train blaring.

Folks, this entire CD is fantastic. AC/DC has had 8 years time to develop the material and it shows.

But it isn't the same old AC/DC we've gotten on every album since Back in Black, it's them, PLUS.

Several of the tunes have a ZZTop bluesy flavor in the intro, then the classic AC/DC kicks in and you're rocking your head off and pissing off grandma in the little car 4 lanes over. Another plus - there ain't no ballads! AC/DC never pretended to be a power-ballad band (we won't count Ride On, although it comes very very close) and they bloody well don't pretend to do so now. This is truly classic headbanger rock in the purest form. I can't praise it enough. Seriously, I pick out 3 distinctive music 'flavors' in this album - bluesy, southern rock, and classic AC/DC, all in fine mix and grand proportions to make this yet another masterwork from grand artists.

Lots of hit potential on this album - pay close attention, here come my predictions:
War Machine, Spoilin' For a Fight, Decibel, Stormy May Day, She Likes Rock N Roll, and of course the title track which is my namesake, BlackIce (Truly, I like this one best, and not just because it shares my name). I see any and all of these becoming vast shining stars in the universe that is Rock, and defining rockers yet to come.

Be warned, good readers, this album isn't for the faint of heart. This one's for the StickItToDaManItis suffering, Headbanging, Hard Thrashing Rock & Rollers of the world, and I for one am damn glad to see it. Just sucks you can only get it at Wal Mart thanks to their contract (hey, 13 bucks, I ain't gonna argue).

And from the credits:
All songs written by A. Young and M. Young.

Nuff said.

Salute!

I was never a fan of AC/DC or most of the groups of that era...didn't like KISS, or Iron Maiden, Supertramp, Led Zeppelin, etc...

but now that they're classics...they grow on you...

still my favorite music is what I grew up on...late 50's, and the 60's throughout ...but I like everything else a little...but I'm usually a generation behind before new music becomes tolerable. :D

There's exceptions...always exceptions...but for the most part most of the music since the early 70's has to grow on me before I like it.

They didn't ask permission, but of course I'll let 'em. In fact, I'm honored

Let's just all remember which |3lack|ce came first tho eh? Hell, I'm older than the firewall that was named for me.

Yah, I miss Bon Scott's stuff, but Angus has done very well in his shoes. In fact few people really notice much difference.
