Good ( Best ) TV Series ( Show )

Postby Egaladeist » Fri Jan 14, 2011 8:36 pm

Scrubs is funny at times...Law and Order is still IMO the best TV drama on the air...it's one of the only shows ( or maybe the only show ever ) to have drastic and repetitive changes in cast and still be a successful show. Most shows don't survive the cast changes L&O have gone through without being a quality show with an excellent writing staff. Even CSI, whose had a few changes, hasn't maintained the level of interest L&O has.

So my picks would be:
L&O - best drama
Two and a Half Men - funniest sit-com
UFC The Ultimate Fighter ( TUF ) - best reality show
Judge Judy - best day-time soap ( yeh, not technically a soap but close...gotta love her demeanor )

Mine would be Law & Order UK

And I just downloaded a kit load of UK TV shows...

The Sweeney
Wire in the Blood
Waking The Dead
Touching Evil
Dalziel & Pascoe
Minder
The Ghost Squad
Spooks

and the only North American one The Unit.

The Sweeney is great, it's set in the 70's and what a laugh at the old clothes people wore (me included...:O )

But for current stuff...nada except the UK law and order...

Doctor Who! Who doesn't love Amy Pond? And Matt Smith is a really great doctor.
Two and a half men - very funny indeed :)
I also like The Big Bang Theory, love the geek humor.

Of all the CSI shows I think I like New York the best.
Other shows I watch are House, NCIS, NCIS:LA, Hawaii Five-0, True Blood and V.

I was pleasantly surprised by the new V. I can remember watching the original version, the new one is slightly different but the basic ideas are the same. And Laura Vandervoort (her name looks distinctly Dutch) is HOT

Me too...in fact it is one of the very few ' mini-series ' I have ever watched...I hate ' mini-series ' because you never know if you are able to watch each episode, I normally avoid mini-series like the plague; I like a beginning, a middle, and an end in one sitting.

I watch The Big Bang Theory once in awhile...it's funny, hilarious at times...but it usually comes on around the same time as L&O or Two and a half men.

Saw The Unit a couple times , looks good from what I saw, but again it comes on about the same time as L&O.

Watched Dr.Who a couple times and just couldn't get into it...way too campy  but loved Fawlty Towers when it was on.

I download pretty much everything. That way I can watch whenever I want to. I can go through an entire season in 2 days :)

Most of the TV shows are at least 1 or more seasons behind down here. If I download I get everything as soon as they're aired in the US.

Have to add, after seeing the marathon (6 episodes) of The Walking Dead, that this was a great watch, can't wait for season 2 now, the scenes are pretty good for an Apocalypse type setting.... :good:

Yeah, I agree on The Walking Dead. I pulled it down from iTunes. Watched a couple on the bus. Folks moved away.

Love it. Great story, good characterization and camera work. Looking forward to next season.

Other fav now is Tower Prep from Cartoon Network. Not what you think, considering the source. Pretty good story, good acting and actors. Fun. Another season pass I picked out on iTunes with my Christmas iTunes cards.
