Another what would you do question !

If you have something interesting to say as a writer and it's readable, or just have an opinion on a good book you read...why not put it here so we can enjoy it with you...

What would you do IF you win the big jackpot (lottery, sweapsteaks or whatever its called) and you win like a few million dollars, euro's of krugerands.

Me ...

- I would travel and see the world (nothing original I know)

- I would buy myself a nice big logcabin (or similar) somewhere in a big forrest with lots of privacy, get it all fitted up with a spa and all ..like hottubs and maybe a sauna or something or a swimmingpool...nice *is dreaming too much*

- I would not forget my family though ... My parents can have some of the winnings to, they deserve it...maybe some other people to but I can't think of anyone just now (meaning anyone alive that is).

- I don't need much else then this ... Maybe a fancy car ... Like an Audi or Range Rover ... or a BMW something like that ...

That's about it ...don't care for more then that ...I guess it's enough anyway ...And I can only drive one car at the time so ... I rather see other people (loved ones) get what they want as well ....spread the love eeuhhh money ;)

What would you do if you win *big*

How much money are we talking about?

Audi A8
House here...Belgium....Finland....Perm. room at the hotel (Japan) in the movie Lost in Translation....and maybe a house in the mountains of Montana (think I mentioned that on the blogs)

That's it....not a lot, right?

I'd still work, though....but I'd do everything for charities - I've had a few in mind the last several years...and a few ideas for ones I'd like to create. I'm not as mean a conservative as most people think....I would and do truly want to help people who are unable to help themselves / situations.

I hate that there are kids who want to go to college but don't have the money.
I hate that there are unwanted children
I hate that there are sick children
I hate that there are women too scared / stupid to leave a guy who's beating them
I hate that some kids in some countries don't have access to education

Those would be the charities I'd focus on or create. And I wouldn't want to sit back and help by only writing out checks...that's not really helping....more like "thowing money at a problem" <-- phrase I hate.

Bah...I hate money, anyway.

I'd give away the lottery for complete and utter love and happiness.
For all that I am....I am not.

Yeah ... since I never play lottery anyway , I don't give it to much thinking ...just now and then ... It has probably to do with current situation :(

Like you said I would keep working also (maybe half-time though :) ).

And since we are dreaming ...there would be more then enough money left for charity ;)

Seeing that I may or may not be in such a position around the 25th of this month, I've given a LOT of thought to this particular topic...

1. Pay off every debt I've ever owed, both recorded and not recorded.
2. Buy a vehicle for myself, my wife, and my daughter who just turned 16.
3. Take a trip to the UK next summer.
4. Get my teeth fixed, hire a dietician and personal trainer, and get serious about losing all this weight.
5. Purchase or build a new house, and move out of this one.
6. Enroll in a major university for classes beginning this fall. My major will be either Pharmacology or Anesthesiology.
7. Invest as much as humanly possible for retirement while still leaving myself a modest income on which to live through my college years. - considering: rental properties, IRA, certificates of deposit (cd's), and certain mutual funds.
8. Hire a tax attorney and an accountant to permit me to shelter as much of my capital gain as possible from Uncle Sam's unruly demands.

These are in no particular order - in fact, number 8 is quite likely the first thing I'll do.

Id probably do what most other people have suggested they would, new house, car, holiday apartment some where hot, clear off depts etc.

I would also get rid of all the broken black and grey boxes I have acumulated over the years and replace with shiney new ones

meh. been there, done that. it's highly overrated unless they're being used as masseuses, and for cooking and cleaning. a 2 girlpower cleaned home is quite nice indeed, not to mention the back massages.

Just ask Fox 8)

an A8 konijntje? Bah if you have this sort of winfall, why not go for broke with the S8? (a surprisingly fun car despite its size)

Dino, that's it? If you had millions of dollars, you'd do two chicks at the same time?

Dinowuff: Damn straight. I always wanted to do that, man. And I think if I had a million dollars I could hook that up, cause chicks dig a dude with money.

Well, not all chicks. are like that...

Dinowuff: Well the kind of chicks that'd double up on a dude like me do.

As for me...
I think I'd engineer a coup. :)

cheers,
