Yep, this thread is totally TAZ'd. Sheepherder admits to falling off'n his chair, Eg gets blamed and dino sings the Canadian national anthem a'capella, but off key.

Well, I guess you have to do something while waiting for Windows 7 to install, eh?

^RULE VIOLATOR^

And I quote directly from the FAQ
Quote:
» Staying on Topic
No Thread outside of the technical and tutorial forums shall stay on topic for any reason. It is suggested and encouraged that any non technical post begin off topic and slowly arrive at the intended topic. Thus immediately going straight off topic again; hence avoiding intended topic and previous off topic topic.

***WARNING***
***YOU ARE ATTEMPTING TO BRING A TAZ THREAD BACK ON TOPIC***

This behavior will not be tolerated by small children, HR employees or that small bit of fairy dust under Egg mans bed!

[quote="Morganlefay"]Mr Rapier is correct...

I prefer to partition on the initial install......using the OS to set the size and number of partitions on a disk.

My basic is one for system and one for data\backup.....I tend to muck with my systems and sometimes it requires a full reinstall of the OS :| ...although not as much since running XP with the recovery options

I also use a removable media for backup (cdr,dvr usb key etc)...incase of a disk failure.

MLF

Edit...and Mr Asp is also correct.....he posted while I was posting :D[/quote i ran into problems trying to re size partitions with windows installed cause it ended up not moving some system files i was installing Linux on the other partition within a day xp crashed and i couldn't get back in lost everything, so i would recommend backing everything up , running kill disk to scrub the entire drive clean and using something like kill disks hard drive partitioning utility to make your partitions don't format em , reboot , let windows xp format the xp partition and windows 7 do the same for its partition ,reason being ive found by hard experience that's one thing windows does well hope that helps ,if you need any other assitance message me on here
