Time Travel sorted - Sort of :o)

http://www.theregister.co.uk/2013/04/12 ... e_machine/

Not content with letting North Korea get all the “we're sooooo bad” headlines this week, fellow rogue nation Iran has let it be known one of its resident boffins has invented a time machine. And then deleted the story in state-run media that brought the world news of the gadget.

The “time machine” in question wasn't of the “transport me to May 11 so I can watch the FA Cup Final, remember the result, then return to present and place very large bet” variety.

Instead a boffin named Ali Razeghi said, according to myriad reports, that the machine could peer five or so years into the future and bring back news of events like whether you'll marry or or where wars will break out.

To say that details of just how the machine pulled off that trick were sketchy is an insult to sketch artists. Search engines also return almost no material on an Ali Razeghi from Iran, making him something of a Dr Who?

It's even harder to learn just how the machine worked, as Iran's state-run media service farsnews.com has removed the story announcing the amazing invention. All that's left is an insight into Iranian 404 etiquette.

Never quite understood the concept of time travel...besides the obvious that it can never happen, otherwise we would have seen evidence of it at some point ;) ...wouldn't time travel throw everything into an endless loop?

We are now in an alternate time stream. The Iranians sent someone back to prevent the announcement from being published. But, their calculations were a tad off and the someone came back just a little late, thus the 404.

Unfortunately, in the process, they burned out the flux capacitor of their machine and have not been able to send anyone back again to a slightly earlier time.

So, we are left with this enigma.

Did anyone else watch Looper? I got a headache trying to follow the concept. Also 7 Monkeys screwed me up, can never wrap my head around time travel. The concept of meeting oneself in the future or past is weird.. which is why they need to get Star Trek back on track....

Not seen looper. 12 monkeys was a head fuck but then so are most of Terry Gilliams films.

I'd settle for going back 7 hours and buying more beer

Not watched Red yet. I've got Abraham Lincoln - Vampire Hunter tonight. Entertaining nonsense
