Old-School Keyboard Makes Comeback Of Sorts

Almost all keyboards made since the early 1990s are, frankly, no good. A tiny group of writers and hackers know better. They use vintage IBM keyboards. Ugly, built like tanks, and, most importantly, with a spring under each key, and which clicks when you press it.

I used to have one of those old IBM keyboards. Big DIN plug and a switch to switch it from XT to AT. I loved it.

I think I'm actually going to order a new one :cool3:

My old work used to have boxes of them. We just threw them in the dump.

DIN to PS2 adapters weren't common and PS2 keyboards were cheap.

The older Dell keyboards I've always found good and tbh the new ones aren't bad either. It's hard to get a good keyboard, you can't try 'em before you buy 'em.

These keyboards actually click.. Not only do they make that clicking sound you can feel it switching..

I liked that a lot, much better than those rubbery crap keyboards they have nowadays..

Have you ever tried to repair one of those????

Keycaps fly everywhere and you can never get them back in! :crying2:

I hate the fact that you can't try them before you buy...
I just open them up in the store and try them out.
A few stores here actually do have keyboards out so you can try them, Best Buy and Staples are some of them

I really like the HP wireless Elite keyboard. Its the one that comes with their touchscreen computer.
