Forensic Conference site == FAIL

Postby rapier57 » Thu Oct 01, 2009 9:14 pm

A tweeter posted this link indicating the site has dire needs for an aesthetic makeover. Yeah, it is butt ugly. I checked it out. It is also in dire need of some security. Check the registration pages. NO SSL! All that PII just passed in the clear. Didn't go to the credit card part, so can't speak to that. Didn't want to go to the credit card part. I might, though, pass the URL to the PCI Committee.

Just for grins and giggles.

Mal: I'm standing right here.
Jayne: You're coming through good and loud.
Mal: 'Cause I'm standing right here.

Looks like they use paypal for credit card processing, so that will be SSL...

However, all the other info: Name, address, phone, company, etc is in the clear

It'll make forensic analysis really easy... Isn't that the point of the conference?
