I don't get how you can even see anything on those things...I can't even read the text on the eMachine the girl's have.

I suppose you can increase the font size but that would be annoying having to increase it so much you spend as much time scrolling as reading.

If your eyes are not the best Eg you should get the accessibility settings on your profile tweaked. You can up the font and profile sizes without screwing with the screen res.

 Darn new-fangled technology.

I think it's more eye-strain than anything...I used to have no problems until I got my first computer. Now it sometimes gets so bad I think I need to get drunk to not see double :D

top 10 of the most annoying iPad weaknesses
1. 4:3 instead of wide screen format? -- will show at 720p
2. No web-cam on board. -- Probably will change in future versions.
3. No multitasking -- I think this is in the pipe for the near future
4. Missing support for Adobe's Flash -- That whoever is in charge. Piece of crap software from Adobe.
5. Suboptimal virtual keyboard -- lame complaint, better than Kindle's interface.
6. No wireless synchronization -- What? Dangerous. Beside, there is iDisk, and it is more secure.
7. Uncomfortable adapter for peripherals -- OOoooooh. Poor baby.
8. No Mac OS X -- Uh, same as iPhone OS, it is a mobile, embedded variant of Snow Leopard.
9. No integrated card reader and no USB. -- eh
10. No HDMI. -- Huh?

Just what _do_ you think the iPad is? It certainly isn't a replacement for the laptop. It is a book reader, PDA-type device that is somewhere between a netbook and an iPhone. It was engineered to provide this with a very good battery life and clean design. If you want all those things listed above, get a MacBook for a bit more $$.

Mal: 'Cause I'm standing right here.

This is what I want. Cheaper, more open and better in every way than the iTampon.

top 10 of the most annoying iPad weaknesses vs the Adam
1. 4:3 instead of wide screen format? - Adam is widescreen and supports 1080p playback.
2. No web-cam on board. - Not only does it have a webcam, the webcam can swivel.
3. No multitasking. - Can multitask.
4. Missing support for Adobe's Flash. - Has Flash
5. Suboptimal virtual keyboard. - Dunno about that, but it has USB if you want to connect a keyboard.
6. No wireless synchronization. - Dunno.
7. Uncomfortable adapter for peripherals. - USB
8. No Mac OS X. - This is a bit of a downer, the Adam runs Android instead of a full-blown Linux.
9. No integrated card reader and no USB. - MicroSD card reader + USB + in-built 3G in the base model.
10. No HDMI. - Has HDMI

BTW, the price is probably going to be in the region of $350 or $150 cheaper than the iPad...
