Looks pretty ridiculously cool;

http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/portable-med ... 227463.php

cost is fairly steep, but I think I'd consider spending it, it comes out right around when my contract is up. Cingular only. Price will be $499 for 4G model 8gb is $599 and that is with a two year contract.

(I bet verizon is fairly pissed right now)

Nope. I like me gadgets but I'm not a big fan of mobile phones. I have a middle of the road pay as you go flip phone and I think the battery life on that is crap enough. I might even go and buy one of the really cheap mono nokia phones with 100s of hours of battery life.

I've a digital camera that takes better pictures than a phone
I've an MP3 player that sounds better than a phone
I've a PDA that's better for typing into than a phone
I just want my phone to phone.

I won't buy any "i" device on principle. Too much hype and fashion snobbery.

Like Asp i like my gadgets... but i wouldn't buy the iphone... for different reasons.

The criteria i currently look for when buying a phone are simply camera quality Vs price. I have a music player that i don't use nearly enough at the moment and so a music phone doesn't hold appeal... its the camera and price that convince me.

That + the price + the fact it looks like its just going to get scratched to pieces.

I'm with Asp, I don't own any 'i' device and never will and yes, a phone is for phoning people.

well, I guess I stand out on this issue, but I love my ipod, I have the nano and it does everything I want it to do. I have a smartphone, because I like the flexability, and to be honest, I have a nice camera for the few times I actually want to take video(only while snowboarding). If I can combine my smartphone and my ipod, I'll take it any day of the week. As for the 'i' craze, I would agree with you guys, and I normally do, but it is simply the best product out there.

Well I just got a phone with a camera in it...mostly cause I keep forgeting the camera ...and not the cell

Now my daughters have IPOD NANOs and love them...they also have the shuffles...which are now mine to use when I workout.

If all the devices are included in one device...it would be handy......but....I would not be able to bring that device into restricted areas...where cameras\recording devices are not allowed...such as my gym....concerts etc

What I love about MACs......they are very easy to use and configure...there are no hardware compatibility issues...or software\driver issues...they are a dream for home users

and anyone I have known that went to MAC...will never go back to PC

How do you work that one out? My point is that whilst it may be best for you that doesnt make it best for everyone :D I can see why it would appeal to many though. As for combining devices again I can see the use but there are major downsides. As has already been mentioned theres the battery life on these things, I commute a fair distance to uni and sometimes use a line in to play stuff on my mp3 player...the battery in my mp3 player lasts about 3 trips (so 1 and 1/2 days). I cant always charge it. If this was part of my phone then I would be without a phone for the remainder of the journey, which I dont like incase im involved in an accident or breakdown. As for Macs.......I have used one a couple of times and hated it :D

I agree with llama.

Also there is a point about these multifunction devices
that if one function fails you could end end up without all of them if it is sent to the manufacturer for repair.

I made a mistake with combined devices a few times never again.

These things will sell.. there is a level of convienience and this is where the market is.

Realise that MP3 players had been around for a few years before the iPod.. now people ask for a ipod but are asking for a MP3 player (well at least their budget is).. will it come to "Hey I want an iPhone" the person wants a phone but the product has been lost to the hype of the "ï".
