Hey guys, I'm back!

Hey guys, I'm back!

Postby Maverick » Mon May 01, 2006 3:35 pm

Just wanted to drop a note to anyone that might have noticed I was away for the last week - I just got back in town from another awesome trip to Las Vegas... Had a good time, made some money, lost some money, drank some beer, drank some more beer, made some more money... All in all, not too bad of a week..

So anyway, three full pages of new threads for the week! Nice! I'm swamped at work here, so I probably won't go digging through it all, but what's been happening around here lately?

Yea, count me in - I post very little on AO these days anyway... I'll just have to remember not to post at all...

Eg. It's so so tempting to post on AO at the moment, i've been logged in all day and at work i was so tempted to quickly reply to a thread etc, but instead when ever i got the urge i would do more work on forum i'm modding for someone..
now i'm at home and it's even more tempting, so i'm drinking lots of coffee and i figured if i cuddle travis all the time, then i cannot type therefore i cannot post at AO.

oh the AO addiction is so strong i'm starting to get the shakes again NNOOOOOO!!!11!!11!

Hi f2b,

It'll wear off in a few days :D Takes a little while for the cravings to go away :D

but...

you can still PM and invite people to post the same question here :D

We might need to set up a hot-line to combat the shakes and with-drawals..a support group :D

Thanks! I was going to post a message on here before I left, but ran out of time trying to get packed and what-not before the trip....

Had a blast, but it's good to be back...

Well, I can't complain about my winnings too much - I actually cleared about +$500 in gambling wins (combination of slots, sports bets, and table games), but I had one big cash pot that I was using for food/drinks/gambling/entertainment/etc so in the end I didn't really come back with more cash than I took, but I was pleased with what I came back with... It was a great trip, much better than the last time I was there! I try to go every two years, so I'll be back in 2008!

Yeah, i work the same way, just with one big pot.

Actually i would have been a lot more down if it wasn't for an amazing run i had right at the end ona black jack table in the Bellagio.

I usually make minimum bets, and to walk away from a table more than $100 up after a couple of hours of playing is usually doing bloody well for me, anyway i was on this table for 3 hours and walked away $500 up (only left because it was 3am) I just couldn't loose, in the end i was doing $50 bets and made the last $300 in about 30-60 min.

If i hadn't of won i would still have been well within budget, but its nice to come away NOT having spent your whole budget!

What table games did you play, I pretty much mainly play BJ, with Poker (V,low stakes), and Slots (occasionally) when i get bored?

I play mostly poker tables (3 Card, Bonus Hold 'Em, etc.) - I'll dip some money in slots, but I don't get into those too much... I play video BJ and video poker while sitting at the bars, and I do a little sports betting.... I had a pretty good run last Thursday morning/early afternoon, it was one of those "can't lose" situations - I was playing Bonus Hold 'Em and hitting A-K suited on my down cards, nailing like 30-1 or 40-1 bonus payouts! I like playing at the MGM Grand and Paris as far as bigger casinos go, but I really enjoy playing at the smaller joints like Barbary Coast and some of the downtown casinos...

I've got a simple philosophy when it comes to gambling ( used to play poker every Thurs. at one time...been to the casinos in Reno, Boomtown, and Lake Tahoe...and love the Track...but haven't been to one in a long time  )...

everytime I went gambling I'd take with me only the amount of cash I could afford to lose...no check-books, no bank cards, etc...and I'd play until I either ran out or until I decided it was time to go home :D

For poker it was amongst friends for fun and we played 30-3...eg. the limit one could lose was set at $30 ( then yer out )...and the game would close at 3 hours ( and you took what you have )...nobody ever left angry or depressed :D

The Track is the best though...nothing like a night out betting on the horses...and the odds are a heck of a lot better too...one shot in 11 or less... :D

Yep, totally agree.

I only take what i can afford to loose, if i gamble, i don't expect to win, i expect to enjoy it and if i loose my budget then fine, i had fun doing it! If i win, well

I used to play Hold 'em with mates at home. We could usually make £10 each (4-6 mates) last the whole night, had great fun and get drunk in the process. It was a hell of a lot cheaper than going out to a club, and in some cases more fun
