I actually have this help desk request.

REQUEST: “Is it possible to have wireless internet access in China so I don't have to depend on hotel services”

What response do you like best?

A. China uses a Communist version of wireless protocols. i.e., 802.11cn that is not compatible with 802.11x
B. Hotel services are a part of the Chinese Wireless Internet; unless you are staying in an American owned and operated establishment.
C. It is possible to have Wireless Internet access in China; however, it will only work at the Hooters in Down Town Shanghai.

Please add any responses you feel are approiate.

Tell them you are dispatching the Verizon wireless dude to follow him/her around with a Linksys router in China.

Sure, just use your cell phone as a modem. The US government subsidises free roaming access in China, so you won't get any data roaming bills.
