Sunday

So ...It's Sunday ....What does everybody do on a Sunday...(Except from NOT posting anything ;) )

Go to Church ?
Stay in the Couch watching some sportsgame?
Do nothing at all?

I've been out trying to take some more pictures ... and ate something when I came back...later on I'll have garbage duty (putting out bins) and then it's more internet time probably and play with the pictures I took.

So what do you guys/girls do on a lazy Sunday

Sunday:

1. Coffee
2. Clean
3. Programming
4. I would like to go to church
5. Run
6. This is something I do EVERY Sunday (hot bath, glass of wine, then watch British comedies with some sleepy time tea)
7. Laundry
8. Maybe a trip to the park or somwhere to take pics
9. a little shopping

That's it - in all is glorious boringness! :p

It's Sunday. Instead of our normal routine here at the |ce house, we shall be effecting repairs upon Mrs|ce's automobile. An unfortunate incident really, as she was driving home after working yesterday, the car blew out its water pump, leaving poor Trish stranded on the side of the highway. 2 1/2 hours later with much assistance, Trish finally nursed the old girl home.

Today in specific we had a newyears concert with a music group I'm a part off. The concert was fine. I dunno about the people though. It always costs me quite some energy to have a decent conversation (not an intellectual one, just one that rolls). I'm usually the lone wolf guy who gets along with everyone and I used to be able to get some bullshit conversation going all the time and get people laughing. Because I'm not in particular buddys with any of em noone really knows me wich gives me my enigmatic aura that's amazingly attractive to women. Until like a few years ago that was just who I was and I wasn't aware of it. I been with this group for quite some years already (like 5 or so), so somehow its starting to backfire on me or something and altough I changed, the group didn't quite notice or something. Conversations I have are either management related like "are you going to be there or do that" or very superficial. The superficial one's are ok, but I always get this vibe of where they don't really wanne hang arround to much. Even women who start a conversation with me have that vibe. Then why start the conversation in the first place again?

Please note that I'm not a socialy crippled person. This is problem I have with this particular group and I can't figure it out. In pretty much all other groups I'm with I don't have this problem. It's starting to cost me so much energy I might just quit the group, that's unless it changes, or rather unless I manage to change it, since it's obviously my problem.

Ok, I had just logged out and was getting ready to leave, but I kept thinking about what you said. So, yes, I came all the way back here...logged in..to say what I think about this.

Weird conversations always make me feel....well, really weird. I "get along" with almost everybody....more than my "real" personality would like - because I'm actually not a bit outgoing...in my head. (sorry this isn't making sense) But for some reason I always try to talk and be like "hey..." - but I HAVE decided...some time ago...that mental energy (not unlike time) is a very precious thing...and if I can't make a conversations "go"...then it's probably NOT my fault, or me. And...it's definitely NOT worth the mental energy (as Neel stated) - and maybe a good indication that my time (that other so precious of a commodity) can better be spent elsewhere.

God I hope that made sense - it does inside my head. :s

It makes perfect sence. However... The fact that it makes me loose energy where I don't want to loose it means I left like... a door or a window open in my house. I'd like to figure out wich door or window it is (because I've got a big house and I might not be able to find it otherwise). Closing it will make me grow and it might just fix the problem. So if you think about it the problem isn't that the conversation isn't going well, it's that I loose energy over it.

Yeah, I read some psychology books...

But if you loose energy with a conversation ...what makes it worth to keep having these conversations?

I mean ...isn't it better then that you seek some other people that won't suck your mental energy dry ...but rather give you this extra energy ... Then if you need to make more energy sucking conversations you actually have a source to have it refilled.

But then again ...It's like ..using your example ...warming your house while your window or door is open ...so you gonna need to pay for the exta heating costs ... Meaning you indeed need to tackle the problem at the root (close the windows or the door) and not use other ways to replentish your mental energy (they can in the end use up other energy you need for something)...but rather preserve it.

Ok I hope that makes sence

Yeah, that's a very good point. That's also exactly my dilemma. I decided to take the "easy" road of doing nothing for a while to stay with the group and see if the situation changes. Also because I also "get" energy from being there. If the situation doesn't change in the next few months I'll quit. Like you said, one open window is no problem if you have the energy.

On sundays I spend the time with my kids. I only get to see them on the weekends. It's kinda a sad day for me

Ive been decorating for a friend. Im not the best painter in the world and i'm some what covered in paint.

However if she would have," just stopped", topping my wine glass up. I'm sure there would not be a Jinxy shaped outline on her wall!
