Welcome to the zone
This place more and more sounds like it's being referred to as does the Zone in S.T.A.L.K.E.R

Would explain a lot tbh, if this was the Zone around Chernobyl.

Damn genetic mutations.

Hell yeah!

As for the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. reference, that explains a lot ;)
You should brace yourself for the idiocy which is about to be spewed upon you.

*shrug*, I find it helpful.
I beleave the H-word has done nothing but hurt technology when an otherwise bright teen picks up flawed (or even false) tutorials on "hacking" instead of technical manuals which go much more into detail regarding computers without the l337 venecular between the lines.

But it begs the question, would they even be interested in the stuff otherwise? I doubt it.

A soon as Hollywood got hold of the 'H' word it was doomed. Same for all the various '-Hats'.

It encourages those looking for some cachet usually quickly and without merit. They want the quick money shot to show their mates that they pwned j00.
The method is irrelevant.

It's a widespread thing, look at all the mediocre crap on TV, X-Factor, Pop-Idol, American-Idol, BB etc etc. How many of those dregs of humanity appear on the box grinning and bouncing like coke heads after a snort screaming "I want to be famous".

Why does no one ask them, "For What?".

Hey Spec,

I've got to say that I don't understand hacking at all, but that comes from a person who barely navigates their email programme.

I used to work in Cash Offices - counting the dollars, doing wages etc., and the first thing that they teach you is how to cheat the system, so that you can spot if someone is trying to rob the company blind. I understand that it would work the same way in defending a system, that you would have to learn all the ways that people could possibly hack into the system etc.,

I'm just at a complete loss as to how a person could hack into a website that is supposed to be on a secure host. I get that I can download someone elses website to my computer, but I couldn't make changes and upload it again.

So, the big Q is - do they do the hacking at the host level, or the website level and if so, how so ?

EDIT - I don't want to know all the sordid details of the how part, just a little hint.

A guy attends a l337 hax0r conference. He listens to a speaker talking about "the hacking scene" and yada yada. Then the guy stands up and shouts at the speaker and attendees, "The more you people say the h-word the less you talk about computers. Im surrounded by beatniks looking to be in with an out crowd!" Then two other people with thick glasses clap mindlessly while everyone else looked confused or picked lint off their stupid fucking 2600 t-shirts.
^ Chances are thats a true story too.

Kind of funny how its hip to call yourself a l33t h4x0r... yet people don't want to be seen as booger collecting computer hobbyist. Its the same way that its cool to protest with U2 and the rest of the left-wing... but it isn't cool to admit you're nothing more than a silly politician.

Me personally, I want to be a poke'mon master.

Well, this is why I'm so fond of undergroundsystems and taz now, I'm not sure if you're still trying to bash undergroundsystems or not, but to be fair, everything is shown how it is within these two resources :)

They have helped turn technology into another 1990s fad for fags. But the fact of the matter is the h-word shouldn't even exist, period.

Plug plug plug... I truely don't care about your website. As for Taz, I personally talked about it and most agreed that tossing the h-word around to "bring in punters", as dafox said, was a very BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD idea.
