Unknown War Game

OK, this is definitely just a shot in the dark....

I remember playing a game where you selected your armies ( different people, different vehicles ) then they were placed in an area on a map ( simulated ground with hills, etc... ) and your job was to use your armies to engage the enemy around you through frontal assault and sneak attack.
I remember using a unit as bait ( distraction ) while another couple units swung in from behind to take out an enemy and capture the hill...I also remember that after I cleared the area of all enemies to engage more enemies and expand my territory I had to pass through open fields that had snipers hiding behind the occasional row of tactical bushes ( don't remember if the fields were mined )...
it wasn't graphically intense, and it was all aerial view from my memory, have no idea what it was called...but it was kinda cool and it was arcadish ( play it online, and no special software or graphics card required...I played it on my old Windows 2000 unit that had, I think , an 8mb graphics card )

anyone have any idea what this game might have been called, or where I can find it?

Egg - try checking Abandonia.com. Lots of old, moldy games listed out there and one might ring a bell for you.

Thanks Ice, I remember that site now. I've been on it a few times, maybe testing games or looking to find games for TAZ, but I was definitely there. Looking around it now.
