Awww, you're so cute Foxxy!

Just passed the 48 hour mark. Finding something to do in place of the smoking is a bigger issue than not smoking. So I've been cooking like a fool. Mike is happy, the people he works with are happy. My sister is happy, Matthew is happy. Everyone is happy except me, but I'm busy so it's okay. Lol.

Well I can't say that I've ' quit ' yet..but I have cut back considerably. Right now my body is in too much pain to stop completely, I find smoking dulls some senses, one of those being the pain sense. And this Pneumonia is not helping, you'd think it'd be a good reason to quit but quitting would just be adding more stress on my system.

All excuses aside I do plan to ' quit ' and am greatly encouraged by your efforts.

I read this thread every day looking for the inspiration to quit.

Still hanging in there. Tonight is a true test, it's our Friday night and we're drinking.

When I got home last night, Kim had a carton sitting on the kitchen Island with a note saying "Don't talk to your family until you've started smoking again". Guess cold turkey make me an ass hole.

I need to find another plan.

Still planning on quitting altogether, but waiting to get over being sick. I know that sounds stupid

but I think I have a better chance at succeeding when I'm not sick.

If you start again they'll just have to go through it all again at some point.

Unless they are going to pay fro you to go on vacation while you go cold turkey?

Fell off the wagon the other night - ironically NOT the night we were drinking - but have kept a tight lid on it. My problem is more the telling myself I can't have anymore than not having anymore. If I tell myself to wait a little while, or go do this or that before I smoke a cigarette, I can literally go all day and smoke 2 cigarettes without even thinking about it or stressing myself out. For now, that's good enough. In a couple of weeks, we'll see where I stand - I'm hoping to wean myself off instead of of quitting? Lol

Let's see.. I quit quitting until I got here to Denver. I could excuse myself by saying it was the stress of moving, new job, etc., but the reality was I wanted to. I got here, restarted the patch, and so far I've slipped up twice (both last night, after my first day of work and after a couple of cold beers.)

Today I shall be smokeless!

No recent posts. You guys still smokeless? C'mon! If you held out this long, you'd be smoke free now!

After quitting advice:

1. wash all your clothes.
2. give the house a good scrub down.
3. toss out all the ashtrays and other paraphernalia related to smoking.
4. when you have an urge to backslide, take a deep, cleansing breath of fresh air.

Mal: I'm standing right here.
Jayne: You're coming through good and loud.
Mal: 'Cause I'm standing right here.

Argh, I ain't faring so well against the less-than-handful of cigs
I still smoke on any given day. So much for the pagan idea of
starting something on a New Moon.

Maybe I should start going to church? OTOH, looks like we got
another New Moon on Saturday!

I've suggested that those of you in the Americas call cigarettes by their UK slang name "fags".
I thought it might be more off putting for you guys to imagine putting a 'fag' in your mouth every time you light up. Or going out to buy a pack of 'fags' for you to smoke.

Used in polite company the embarrassment should be enough to get you to quit.

I failed miserably - back smoking again, major MAJOR stress during training. I'll try again after I get to my property next week.

It took me 10 years to quit...I quit for 2 years ...then 911...I went and bought wine and smokes and said "fook it" > I quit again about a year later then started dating a smoker

Quit last time about 3 years ago.....still get the urge once in a while.

I like Asps advice..... :good:

Dont quit quitting
