There are more people in this world who believe in God than those who believe in Aliens. You would think that the existence of Aliens would be accepted by everyone, simply because we exist. The fact that we exist would in itself indicate that in this vast Universe the probability would be extremely high that life exists elsewhere. The uniqueness of human life is a Religious concept not a scientific concept. Although some scientists do still adhere to Religious views.
Now saying that Aliens exist and saying that they have ever been here or could ever be here are two very different things. Aliens could live so far from us that we would never meet under any circumstances. Maybe by chance, or by design. Suffice it to say that there is a far greater chance of Aliens existing than a Personal Deity.
In fact it would be silly to think that we are unique.

Re: Aliens vs God
there are a couple of theories about why aliens, if they exist CAN'T get to us
one, is basically, that they advanced to a dead end, a bit like we are in the process of doing, it is guestimated that the world will be locked into itself due to the amount of space junk above, so we will be unable to launch ANYTHING within the next couple of decades
others along a similar theme, that as alien civilisation advanced, they destroyed themselves, again, a bit like us and our abilty to develop mass destruction at will, but not social medical free at point of contact care
scientifically there is a calculation for the possibility of alien life and the score is sufficiently high that we have to conclude there IS alien life out there, but we are unable to detect, or they do not want to be detected
The Drake equation is:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drake_equation
where:
N = the number of civilizations in our galaxy with which communication might be possible (i.e. which are on our current past light cone);
and
R∗ = the average rate of star formation in our galaxy
fp = the fraction of those stars that have planets
ne = the average number of planets that can potentially support life per star that has planets
fl = the fraction of planets that could support life that actually develop life at some point
fi = the fraction of planets with life that actually go on to develop intelligent life (civilizations)
fc = the fraction of civilizations that develop a technology that releases detectable signs of their existence into space
L = the length of time for which such civilizations release detectable signals into space[5][6]

Re: Aliens vs God
My theory would be that the distance between inhabited worlds with intelligent life is so vast that we cant create a craft to go there. a craft would need to travel close to the speed of light for several generations and would need to avoid damage, degrading, etc at those speeds and for that time frame
we cant even create a car to last several years at 60mph lol
so we would need some form of '' Beam me up Scotty ' type of transport to even think we could reach destinations outside of our own galaxy
